The Huadian Bazhou Hybrid Energy Storage +1 million Kilowatt Wind Power Integrated Project is the third batch of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic base construction projects focusing on desert, Gobi and wasteland areas. The total investment of the project is approximately 4 billion yuan, with a total installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts. It is also equipped with a 250,000-kilowatt /1 million kilowatt-hour energy storage power station. The project will install 51 wind turbines with a single-unit capacity of 10 megawatts and 58 wind turbines with a single-unit capacity of 8.5 megawatts, along with supporting facilities. A 220-kilovolt step-up collection station will also be constructed as a supporting facility.

  • Energy storage power station

    During the charging and discharging process of lithium battery energy storage systems, flammable gases such as methane and carbon monoxide may be released. It is necessary to install alarm devices in the energy storage containers and battery management rooms (BMS) to link the ventilation and fire protection systems.

  • Wind power plant

    Leakage of the hydraulic system inside the wind turbine tower may produce flammable gas. Detectors should be deployed in enclosed Spaces such as the nacelle and electrical control cabinet to prevent gas accumulation and accidents.

  • Photovoltaic power station

    Equipment such as photovoltaic inverters and energy storage battery compartments may release hydrogen due to faults (such as thermal runaway of lithium batteries). It is necessary to install alarm devices in battery rooms and equipment rooms to monitor the hydrogen concentration in real time and prevent the risk of explosion and combustion.

  • Hydrogen refueling station

    Explosion-proof detectors should be installed in areas such as hydrogen refueling machines and hydrogen storage cylinder groups to link with emergency shut-off valves to prevent hydrogen leakage from causing explosions.
